Pour onion with potassium permanganate proportions. We process onion sevka manganese. How to do it? Processing planting material - make the bow more resistant

Regardless of what planting material you have, namely, grown your onion-sevok or purchased from sellers, you should definitely prepare it for planting.

Important rules for preplant preparation of onion sets when growing turnip onions:

Check the quality of onion sets

Sevok need to sort and remove the dried, diseased and affected onions. At the same time it is sorted by size. First large onions are planted, then medium and small ones. This is done for uniform shoots.

Warming onion sets

A few weeks before planting, sevok should be heated, which will help avoid bolting. This is especially true for purchase purchased, if you do not know the storage conditions. Its sevok, having a large size and stored at low temperatures, must also be heated. To warm up, sevka is scattered around a warm battery or taken out on warm spring days in the sun.

We treat onion sets from diseases and pests

For 3-4 hours sevok soaked in saline. Cooking salt 1 tbsp. spoon with a hill dissolved in one liter of warm water and immerse the bulbs in the solution. So that they do not float, the bulbs can be pre-poured into a nylon stocking or gauze bag. After the salt bath, sevka needs to be rinsed well with clean water, changing the water several times. Some gardeners use a stronger saline solution (a pack of salt for half a bucket of water), but in any case, be sure to wash off the excess salt well. Salt has a detrimental effect on the eggs of onion flies, ticks, thrips. To some extent this is prevention from diseases.

Washed onion sets are soaked again for a couple of hours in a dark solution of potassium permanganate against diseases, since onions are prone to fungal infections. After 2 hours, sevok again washed with water and slightly ventilated from excess water. Sevok ready for landing. Instead of potassium permanganate, such chemicals as copper sulphate or copper chlorine will also be suitable.

If necessary, sevka can be soaked for stimulation of the roots in a solution of epine, zircon, humate, in a solution of mineral fertilizers. But the onion itself has a large supply of food and does not need such additional treatments.

Planting onion weighing - how to grow a rich "green" crop?

When is it best to plant onions on greens?

According to most gardeners, best time  for planting onions - when stable warm weather is established. And all because the soil must be warm. If work is done earlier, when the temperature of the soil is below + 12-14 ° C, this will cause the onions to ripen in the feather (only greens will grow), and the onions will not develop. Usually, optimal timing  planting onion sets - the end of April.

But also remember that you should not be late with the landing of this culture. If the temperature of the soil is too high, the bulbs will ripen slowly and may not have time to form for normal storage. To choose the right time, you can explore moon calendar  landings for 2016. According to him favorable time  for planting onions - after April 25th. If you prefer a summer planting culture, you should choose either June 15 or July 13.

If you are going to spend autumn landing  Sevka, then you should choose the middle of October, when the earth was not completely frozen. Favorable period  work - October 10, but no later than the 15th. However, in order for the onions not to freeze over in winter, it is necessary to cover the beds with an additional layer of snow when the temperature drops below -12 ° C.  And in early spring, before clearing the beds, snow must be scattered in different directions to avoid water stagnation in the garden.

Processing planting material - make the bow more resistant

Deciding to plant a bow on the plot, the first step you need to take is to prepare the seed. If you have purchased onion sets, you need to dry it. The seed grown on its plot should be heated at a temperature of about +40 ° C. At the same time, heating is a rather lengthy process, which consists of two stages: we warm the onions for 21 days at a temperature of +20 ° C, withstand onions for about 12 hours at a temperature of +35 ° C.

After that you need to soak the sevok in the growth stimulator (for example, in Epinay or Silke).  If you do not have the opportunity to carry out a phased preparation of seed, the processing of onions before planting will be as follows:

  • soaking onions in water heated to a temperature of +50 ° C for 15 minutes;
  • immersion of seed in cold water for 10 minutes (this process is called hardening);
  • seed processing in a solution of complex fertilizer for 5 hours.

Another mandatory procedure before planting is disinfection of the set. For processing, you can use a weak solution of potassium permanganate or copper sulfate (to prepare the mixture, mix 40 g of the product in a bucket of water).

There is also one fairly effective "grandmother" method:

  • dry sevok during the week at a temperature of about +25 ° C;
  • the next step is soaking planting material  in saline (2 tablespoons of salt per 2 liters of water) for three hours;
  • rinse the onions;
  • immerse the seed in a concentrated solution of potassium permanganate for 2–3 hours;
  • rinse again;
  • dry onions.

This completes the preparation of onion sets for the greens.

Proper soil preparation for planting

Before you prepare the ground for planting, you need to choose a suitable place for arranging the beds. It is important to remember that this culture is light-loving, because the place where the onions will grow should be open and well lit. In addition, this culture is moisture-loving, but does not withstand excessive amounts of water. That is why try to choose beds where groundwater does not pass.

Soil preparation begins in the fall. Onions like a loose and nutritious soil, because you need: to dig up the beds to a depth of 20 cm; make peat compost. An important caveat - soil should be fertilized only at the stage of soil preparation. But organic fertilizers should not be added to the ground, as this will lead to the rapid growth of weeds, in addition, the green part of the onion will quickly grow, and root system  will not keep up with her. As a result, you will not be able to grow onions suitable for storage.

Before planting the seedlings, do not add chicken manure or humus to the soil. Soil preparation includes checking the soil acidity level. If the soil is acidic, before planting seeding, you should conduct a liming using one of the following ingredients: dolomite flour, lime, chalk, wood ash. Do not forget about one important point - at the same time it is not necessary to add lime and manure to the bed, since as a result of such measures the level of nitrogen in the fertilizer is reduced. But it is permissible to reduce the acidity of the soil, using other means, which we described above.

In spring, soil preparation consists in loosening the soil and making mineral additives. Before planting onions (about a week), pour the bed with the following solution: a tablespoon of copper sulfate in 10 liters of water.

Planting onion sets - instructions for beginners

Before planting, be sure to sort the bulbs, because depending on the size of the planting material, the distance between sevka on the beds is determined. The onion planting scheme should be as follows:

  • bulbs up to 1 cm in size are placed on a bed at a distance of about 5 cm;
  • bulbs up to 1.5 cm - at a distance of 8 cm;
  • the larger seed is at a minimum distance of 10 cm.

If we talk about the beds, they should be at a distance of at least 25 cm. The depth of planting is about 4 cm. After dipping the seam into the soil, the ground around the onion need to be compressed tightly, and the planting material is covered with a layer of mulch about 3 cm. As a mulching material You can use straw, sawdust, peat or small pebbles. There is one "Grandma's Secret": make a hole in the garden for planting onions, pour it, and put some sand on the bottom. According to gardeners, onions in such beds will grow much faster.

Onions, like other vegetables, have desirable and undesirable "precursor cultures." To desirable include cucumbers, cabbage, potatoes, as well as vegetables, when planting in the soil make a large amount of "organic". Undesirable predecessors include carrots and garlic - on the beds where these crops grew, onions can be planted only after 3 years.

What should be the care of the culture on the site?

Caring for onions will not cause you any trouble. The main thing is timely weeding, loosening and watering the plant. Let's take a closer look at each of the events:

  1. Loosening. Correctly carry out work until the first shoots. The frequency of the event is once every 14 days, which will avoid the formation of an earth crust on the garden bed.
  2. Watering. Immediately after disembarking sevka onions need to be watered once a week. About 7 liters of water per square meter of soil. Since July, the number of watering reduced.
  3. Top dressing. Onions are one of the crops that need little feeding, but there are a few points. So, for the first time you can apply fertilizer a couple of weeks after planting. Add a slurry of 500 g of manure to 5 liters of water in the garden bed. You can also feed onions with a solution from bird droppings - dissolve 500 g of litter in 7 liters of water. As fertilizer, you can use dry mineral fertilizers (in the form of granules), which are simply sprinkled on the soil before watering.

Deep misguided are those gardeners who think that caring for onions should not include the removal of weeds. On the plot where you plan to grow the crop, there should be no weeds. Otherwise, it will be quite problematic for you to get rid of them without damaging the onions when the greens grow. In addition to weeding, care should include the use of chemicals that need to treat the bed with the plant. It is best to use the tool Roundupwhich effectively fights weeds and is safe for plantings themselves.

Diseases and pests have a negative effect on both greens and onions. That is why care for culture should include measures to combat them. The most harmful insect is onion meal, which appears as early as May with the first shoots. To protect the onions from the invasion of this pest, be sure to treat the crop with insecticides. It is best to use tools such as Zolon and Volaton.

Peronosporia is one of the most dangerous diseases for onions. This is an analogue of late blight, affecting tomatoes and other vegetables in the garden. In this disease, the greens begin to darken and dry, and the onions will be unsuitable for storage. The main way of dealing with the disease is spraying with the help of such means as Ridomil Gold and Acrobat.

Onion secrets. Cultivation of bulb onions from the set. My garden, garden. Piggy country experience.

Hello dear readers!

Time to talk to us about growing onions, about one of the very first plants that people began to grow, because it is believed that the onion was “cultivated” about 4 thousand years ago.

It is almost impossible to imagine any kitchen in the world without this “tear” vegetable, because many dishes without it will seem bland and tasteless.

And although there are a great many types of onions, each of them finds its admirers. This and onion, and a more delicate and delicate leek; perennial chives can decorate our summer cottage with flowers, but, for example, a slyzun successfully combines taste and onions and garlic.

I have listed far from all types of onions, there are many more of them and the onion variety is quite capable of capturing the most demanding gourmet.

A bit of history

Onions were well known in ancient Egypt. On the paintings of the tombs, and the oldest of them belongs to about 2800 BC, images of onions were found.

The Egyptians highly valued it as a very effective remedy for the flood plague and, therefore, they grew onions everywhere. He was necessarily included in the daily ration of slaves who built pyramids to avoid various epidemics, as their number reached 100,000 people, moreover on a relatively small construction site.

And Roman legionnaires believed that consuming large amounts of onions increased their energy and made the warrior fearless.

The ancient Germans crowned with onion flowers brave warriors who distinguished themselves in battle.

In the era of the Crusades, the bow had such a high healing and occult authority that the French knights even bartered their prisoners from the Saracens for 8 bulbs of each of them.

And the ancient doctors, not without reason, believed that there was not a single disease in which the onions, if prepared in the proper way, would not benefit the sick.

In Russia, onions also contributed their invaluable help in the years of terrible epidemics - the plague, cholera, and typhus. To prevent any infection from entering the premises and to purify the air, the bundles of onions were hung in the living quarters.

Useful properties of onions

While preparing to write an article about onions, I re-read a large amount of literature about him and was just amazed at how many useful properties  by the bow. I, of course, had known before that he possessed healing propertiesbut so in such quantity !!!

Now I regret very much that in childhood I didn’t like onions very much and almost did not eat it, as indeed, probably, many other children.

I'll try to briefly mention at least some priceless properties of onion: wound healing, protivogrippoznoe, Burns, expectorant, diuretic, laxative, antiscorbutic, anti-arrhythmic, antibacterial, antifungal, anti-sclerotic, antithrombotic, antispasmodic and hypotensive, antihelminthic, protivogemorroynyh.

Onions can be of great benefit to people with circulatory system disorders and edema of any origin, as they can stimulate and regulate heart activity and secretory activity of organs such as the bronchi, liver, kidneys, and pancreas.

And onions are valuable because they reduce the prothrombin index (blood clotting), cholesterol and blood sugar levels; normalizes blood pressure, increases the elasticity and strength of blood vessels.

Many modern carbohydrates, sugars, pectins, fiber, proteins, a large number of various vitamins, minerals (potassium, calcium, phosphorus, iron, manganese, zinc, selenium, sulfur) and phytoncides are found in onions.

For therapeutic purposes, onions can be used in any form: raw, boiled, baked, dried onions, fresh leaves, upper shells (scales) and seeds, in the form of juice, in the form of gruel, as well as decoctions and infusions.

I have listed, my dear readers, only a fraction of the useful properties of onions, to show you what kind of treasure we grow in our gardens.

But it should also be noted that the bow has its contraindications. For example, onions are contraindicated in many diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, biliary and urinary systems, as the essential oils contained in it can aggravate the course of the disease.

Persons suffering from these diseases should be careful when ingesting fresh pulp of onions and its whole juice, but at the same time they can successfully use baked or boiled onions.

Basic requirements for growing onions

In this section, we consider the general conditions that must be met when growing this plant. Although the bow is not the fastidious culture itself, it still requires attention to itself.

For him, it is important that the soil in the beds was loose and nutritious. It is best to take an open, well-lit area under the onion planting, as the plant reacts sharply to the intensity and duration of illumination. The length of daylight is one of the important conditions for its cultivation.

Onion feels great and grows well with low humidity. But at the same time the soil should be moderately wet. Watering onions is important at a time when there is a massive re-growth of feathers and the formation of bulbs, and at the end of the growing season excessive moisture is not welcome, as it will delay the ripening of the onions and reduce its keeping quality.

On those areas where groundwater come close to the surface, it is better not to plant onions.

He also does not like weeds, so the onion should be planted regularly.

The onion beds are best done in those areas of our summer cottage, where cucumbers, cabbage, tomatoes, and potatoes were grown in the previous season, under which crops we usually apply large doses of organic fertilizers.

In no case can not be planted onions on the site, which was occupied by any type of onion, because: firstly, various pathogenic bacteria and other microorganisms can remain in the ground, as well as those pests that "specialize" in this culture; secondly, the soil in these places is already depleted of those nutrients that are necessary for the growth of onion plants.

And onion is not advisable to plant after such plants as: garlic, carrots. At the same place onions can be planted not earlier than after 3 years, and best of all in 5 years.

It does not like onions to grow on acidic soils either, because in this case the plants assimilate food much worse and are more often affected by such a formidable disease as downy mildew (peronospora). Having fallen ill, the plant weakens and can no longer fully combat pests.

Cooking plot for planting onions

Preparing the soil for planting onions is best in the fall. We dig up the earth to a depth of 15-20 cm, after introducing well-rotten manure or peat compost.

It is not advisable to add fresh manure, as this can cause onion diseases, weed seeds can also get into the soil and get rid of them later it will not be so easy. And the introduction of fresh manure will provoke increased growth of the aerial part of the plant, because of what the bulbs can not fully mature.

If your soil is acidic, then to get good harvest  onions, it is necessary to conduct liming of the soil in the fall. But here it is necessary to take into account the fact that it is extremely undesirable to spread manure and lime into the soil at the same time, since the nitrogen content in the fertilizer decreases.

To avoid this, instead of lime, it is better to add dolomite flour, ground limestone, ground chalk, and wood ash to the soil.

In the spring, we will only have to make mineral fertilizers and it is better to apply them not all at once, but in several stages, since the onions are very negatively related to the high concentration of salts of mineral fertilizers.

Therefore, we make half of the set dose when we dig the ground before planting, and distribute the second half between 2-3 additional feedings during the growing season.

Onion

In the previous sections, we learned about the general conditions that must be met for a successful growing onions. Now it's time to consider the requirements of specific species, of which there are a large number, but our gardeners have the most widespread several species, these are: onions, shallots, onions-batun, chives, onions-slick, leeks, multi-tiered, ramson

Let's start, perhaps, acquaintance with the onion family with the most famous species that grow all summer residents - is onions. More often onions are grown  from the onion sets, which can be purchased in stores for gardeners or grow yourself from seeds.

Breeding sevka rather labor-intensive process, because you need not only to make a lot of effort to grow it, but also then correctly save it.

Therefore, I can’t decide on the cultivation of onions from seeds, although it would be necessary to try. In the next article, we will take a detailed look at the agrotechnology of growing onions from seeds, and now let's talk about how to grow a good onion from seedlings.

Preparing for landing

If we bought sevok in the store, then it is necessary immediately after purchase to dry it in any warm place, scattering it with a thin layer, but not on the battery.

If you have sevok, which you yourself have grown and that you kept at a low temperature (below 18ºС), then you need to warm it up in order for the growth processes to start moving.

It is best to warm sevok in several stages: first, we maintain it for 15–20 days at a temperature of 20ºС; then we raise the temperature to 30-40ºС, but only for 8-10 hours.

Warming up is necessary not only to increase growth, but also to prevent bow shooting in the future. At the same time, it is very important not to allow overheating of the seed line, since in this case the germination of the onion sets very noticeably decreases.

If you did not succeed in gradually warming up the sets, then before planting, be sure to fill it with hot water (45-50ºС) for only 10-15 minutes, and then immediately cool it in cold.

It is very good if after heating we still process the seams with some kind of growth stimulant (for example, Zircon, Humisol, Growth-1) or, instead, you can hold it for 5-6 hours in a solution of complex mineral fertilizer.

In conclusion, it remains only to sanitize onion sevka in a solution of blue vitriol (1 teaspoon per 10 liters of water) or in a weak solution of potassium permanganate. Well now sevok ready for planting.

Planting sevka

The timing of planting onion sets directly depend on weather conditions. If spring is early and warm, then it is possible to plant sevka at the end of April, and if it is cold, then it is necessary to wait until the earth warms to the depth of the finger.

In cold land (temperature below 12 º C) planting onions does not make any sense, since it will go to the arrow. But it is also impossible to delay the planting, especially if the spring is warm and dry.

This may lead to the fact that at first the plant will actively develop a green feather, and the root system will begin to lag behind in its development, and then, due to lack of moisture and high temperature, green onions will stop their growth, but the resulting bulbs will still slowly develop. and remain small.

So the well-known saying “Throw in the dirt - you will be a prince” fully applies to the bow too. Only you can still clarify - in the warm mud)))

We plant onion sets on cooked beds in rows, after sorting it by size. So sevka diameter up to 1 cm plant at a distance of 4-5 cm from each other; diameter up to 1.5 cm - at a distance of 6-8 cm; diameter up to 2 cm - at a distance of 8-10 cm.

The distance between the rows is best to take about 20 cm, so that it is better to process the bow and so that the planting is better aired.

Planted onions tightly squeeze earth and cover the top with a layer of mulch with a thickness of about 2.5-3 cm. A week after planting may appear the first shoots.

How to handle onion sets before planting?

Onions sevok before planting, it is necessary to warm the sun, you can put on the sunny window, or near the battery. Treatment with a solution of potassium permanganate does not give a special effect; it will be necessary to save plants by spilling salt water or adding kerosene or ammonia when watering with an onion fly. It is necessary to plant the bulbs in a well-warmed land Donets down to a depth equal to the size of the bulbs.

FOX-NASA

If the onion sevok has not yet given the splayed feathers, then you need to remove the top husk, thus you will help the onions to germinate faster.

Immediately before planting, a groove in the garden, in which the onion will be planted, spill abundantly with warm water (preferably liquid fertilizer for vegetables should be added to the water), plant a bow in it and cover it with dry earth from above. Top watering on this day is not necessary. Beds with planted onions should be poured in 1-2 days, preferably from a watering can, so that the earth does not clutch with a crust, so it will be harder for the bow to pass through it.

Resny00

First, remove all the bad bulbs - anyway, there will be little confusion from them. Before planting the onions (about 2-3 days before this), the onions must be warmed up. Put them somewhere in a warm place, such as near a hot battery. If such preparation of onion sets for planting is difficult, then it is necessary to lower it for a couple of minutes in hot water. Just do not pour boiling water - otherwise it will cook. After that, immediately immerse in cold water for a moment. This activates the vitality of the bulbs.

Then it is necessary to prepare a nutrient solution from fertilizers (and even better to add growth activators to them). In this solution, onions-sets stand for about 10 hours. In order to make it easier to get onions later, it is best to lower it into the solution in the grid, through which water flows easily, but does not allow it to crumble.

The next stage of preparation of the onion set for planting is its treatment against fungal diseases. For this, a solution of copper sulfate is prepared (10 g of vitriol is needed per bucket of water (10-liter). The bulbs are bathed in it for 10 minutes. After that, the bulbs are washed and the preparation of the onion-seed for planting can be considered complete.

crist

Before planting onions, be sure to sort through, sort out all the onions that are damaged or unhealthy.

It is more convenient for further processing, as my practice shows that the harvest will be better if you hold these nets in a solution of complex fertilizers for several hours and dip them in a solution with copper sulfate just before planting. I always grow onions very good.

But I still very carefully go to the choice of the sev, I never buy the first one.

chacha777

Firstly, the sowing onion sets should be dry and healthy, remove all unnecessary crusts, sort all the bulbs and start planting - plant a bow in the hole - then pour a little of it and pour the ground around it, but not abundantly - then bury it. The next day you can water. If the ground at the site is too hard, loosen it slightly so that the plant can break through. Until all the sprouts appear, watch out for the hardness of the earth. Water is not abundant.

angren

To successfully grow onion seedlings, you need to know a few things:

  • the bulbs must be dry and look healthy, rotting, etc. is unacceptable;
  • plant not very deeply so that the plant can quickly make its way out, slightly loosen the ground periodically at the landing sites;
  • try not to let the soil dry out, periodically watering it.

stalonevich

I keep about two or three hours in the water, and after planting, I seal the ground to retain moisture. Then every two days I pour plenty of water. We have a large plot, I water half of the garden, loosen the second half, and the other day, on the contrary, loosen the first part and water the second. Some people keep the day in the water, I do not know, I think it is superfluous.

Lilechka

Usually, before planting onion sets, it is taken out and kept in a warm place for several days in the light, and just before planting it is soaked in a solution of potassium permanganate (weak) for an hour or two or three.

Land is watered only before sticking onions. Many use Fitosporin-m, reviews about it are quite good.

That's all the preparation.

Maryushka Dushka

Treatment of onion sets right before planting is as follows:

  • cleaning, drying and removing the first layer of husk at the very bow
  • moisten the hole for the bow a little, but not abundantly - you can use a sprayer and put the onion in there, then bury it and spray the surface of the former hole again.

PRAVDA911

If you are going to plant onion sets, then before planting it must be processed.

The first must be dried for several days.

Second clean off the first layer of husk. Dig the third well and moisten a little. Then lay the onion, bury it with earth and lightly moisten the earth.

Marusya112

Of course, onion sets must be processed before planting. From the top of the husk is better to free the bulbs. When digging holes, moisten them with warm water. Then, respectively, we plant onions in the wells and fall asleep directly by the ground itself.

Every year, residents of our village planted 5-6 acres of onion sets. Life is difficult now, almost all pensioners in the village, and for us the harvest of onions is the main help. But in the last 3-4 years the onion rots from above, virtually the third part of the crop disappears. All the measures that we took, the effect is not given. Maybe you need to process chernushka? Help us, please, the advice of an agronomist will be useful to us.

Preparing beds for sowing and planting onions

The best forerunners for onions are pumpkin crops - cucumbers, zucchini, pumpkins, as well as vegetable peas, tomatoes, green cultures. The beds for onions need to be cooked in the fall. Before digging bring rotten manure or compost aged for a year - 5-7 kg per 1 square meter. m, phosphate and potash fertilizers at the rate of 30 g per square meter. The bed needs to be smeltted - 2 cups of lime-fluff, chalk or dolomite flour also per 1 square meter. m
In the spring, before sowing black onions, a bed should be watered with a solution of copper sulphate or copper oxychloride (1 tbsp per 10 l of water) at the rate of 2 l of solution per 1 sq. M. The temperature of the solution is not lower than 50 ° C. After that, close the bed with film. All this should be done in 2-3 days before sowing onion seeds.
Before sowing, to protect the seeds from fungal diseases, wrap them in a rag and hold them for 15 minutes in hot water (45-50 ° C), and then 1 minute in cold water. Onion seeds can be heated in the microwave. To do this, put the seeds wrapped in a rag in a glass or other container and hold in the microwave for 100 seconds. Chernushka seeds are sown on April 20-25. Onion care consists of watering, loosening, weed, pest and disease control.

Now it's about the onion set

For planting onion sets, which were stored at a temperature of 18-22 ° C, additional heating is not required. Just before planting, the onions are poured into a bucket and poured for 1-2 minutes with hot water (65-70 ° C), and then dipped into cold water for 1 minute. After heating, the bulbs are soaked in a nutrient solution. To do this, dilute 1 liter of water with 1 tbsp. A spoonful of nitroammofoski or any complex fertilizer (for example, “Kemira-kombi”), mix well and fill with this solution of sevok. Keep sevok in nutrient solution for 8-10 hours. Then the solution is drained and, without washing the bulbs, immerse them for 5-10 minutes in a solution of blue vitriol (1 teaspoon per 10 liters of water). This is done for the prevention of onion mushroom diseases. After processing, the bulbs are washed with clean water and proceed to planting.
Sevok is planted in the grooves at a distance of 8-10 cm and covered with soil so that the layer of soil above the shoulders of the bulbs was no more than 2-2.5 cm.

Onion Diseases

Neck rot. Control measures - dry the onion at a temperature of 25-26 ° C for 12 days.
Downy mildew (perinospora)  - Fungal disease. Initially, pale green spots appear on the onion leaves, later they turn into a grayish-purple patina, then the leaves turn yellow and fall off. To prevent the disease from developing, treat the onions with a solution of copper oxychloride (1 tablespoonful of copper oxychloride and liquid soap per 10 liters of water). This is done when the onion leaves reach a height of 10-12 cm. At the beginning of June, the onion on the turnip must be fed with ammonium sulfate (2 tablespoons per 10 liters of water) at the rate of 4-5 liters per 1 square meter. m
Stem Nematode. Very small, almost invisible, filiform whitish worms. To combat them, before planting onions, the soil is shed with a solution of sodium chloride (3 tablespoons per 10 liters of water) at the rate of 3 liters of solution per 1 square meter. m. Before planting, both in spring and autumn, onions are treated with the following solution. In 5 liters of water dilute 3 tbsp. tablespoons of salt and dip the bulbs in this solution for 15-
20 minutes. Then, without washing, the bulbs are planted. In a solution of salt for soaking the bulbs, you can add 0.5 kg of finely chopped fern leaves. It is also useful to mulch the planting of onion fern leaves.
Against an onion fly, watering the onion bed with a tobacco solution gives a good effect. To do this, pour 200 g of tobacco dust into a bucket, pour 2-3 liters of hot water and draw for 2-3 days. Then add 1 tbsp. spoon of liquid soap, 1 teaspoon of red pepper, add up to 10 liters of water, filter and spray planting onions and soil at the rate of 1 liter of solution per 1 sq. m
When the onion feathers reach a height of 5 cm, the onion bed is watered with a solution of sodium chloride from a watering can (1 cup of salt per 10 liters of water). But at the same time the salt solution should not fall on the onion leaves. This procedure, if necessary, repeat two more times after 20 days. At the end of May, onions are fed with urea (1 tbsp. Per 10 liters of water), spending 3-4 liters per 1 sq. Km. m
Good results against the larvae of the onion fly are given by mulching the onion plantations with dry manure.

Potassium permanganate has long and successfully been used not only in medicine, but also in gardening. And although today the choice of antiseptics and fertilizers is very large, many prefer them to ordinary potassium permanganate. Potassium permanganate has antiseptic and antimicrobial properties.

It is used to disinfect wounds, gargle and so on. Potato potassium permanganate is used as a fungicide, that is, it protects plants and seeds from the development of fungal diseases, mold and rot. Potassium permanganate is produced in small bubbles in powder form.

Manganese crystals have a dark purple color. They dissolve well in water, dyeing it in a light pink color, if the concentration is weak or in dark purple hues when it is increased. In plant growing potassium permanganate is used in solutions of different concentrations and with different purposes.

Ways to use potassium permanganate in the garden

Seed dressing

Most often potassium permanganate is used precisely for the purpose of disinfection and seed protection before planting.

This procedure allows you to destroy pathogenic germs and fungi spores, and thereby increase the germination of seeds. For disinfection of planting material, the solution is prepared at the rate of 1 gram of permanganate and 500 ml of water. The solution is well mixed. Spread the seeds of the crops into the clean gauze and place them in the solution of potassium permanganate for 20 minutes. After the time the seeds are well washed under running water.

The solution prepared in such proportions has a very high concentration, and it is impossible to soak the seeds in it for a long time.

Before putting the seeds in the solution, soak them in simple warm water for 5 hours. If the seed is in the form of a dragee, it does not need soaking. The seed coat contains not only trace elements, but also antifungal agents.

Plant Nutrition

Potassium permanganate is not bad as a top dressing. Liquid dressing is prepared from 3 grams of potassium permanganate and 1 gram of boric acid. The components are dissolved in 10 liters of water. This dressing can be applied on the gooseberry or other shrubs.

Water the bushes with a solution of permanganate and boric acid better in spring. On sandy soils, this solution works particularly well. As a fertilizer for berries, such as strawberries, use a mixture of 5 grams of permanganate and 10 liters of water.

Fungicide

Many gardeners fundamentally do not want to use industrial chemical plant protection products, believing that they damage the soil and the quality of the future crop. And with plant diseases are struggling with potassium permanganate.

For example, as a preventive measure and to combat gray mold on strawberries and other berries. To do this, in 10 liters of water dissolve two teaspoons of permanganate. After flowering, berry bushes are poured over the solution. For melons use a mixture of 1.5 grams of manganese per 10 liters of water against powdery mildew.

For dressing potato tuber bulbs before planting, before planting it is necessary to soak planting material for 8 hours in solution. It is prepared for dressing in proportions of 5 grams of permanganate and 10 liters of water.

It is possible to pickle planting material with this solution in the spring, before planting.

Soil disinfection

In order to grow from seeds strong and healthy seedlings often use sterile soil. In order to disinfect it you need to water the soil with a weak solution of manganese.

Potassium permanganate solution or potassium permanganate is inexpensive and quite effective remedy, which can be used in the garden - water the soil, plants, soak the seeds.

Probably many have already gone to their sites. Work there in the spring can always be found. Someone only removes debris from the site, and someone has already actively started planting.

Our country is large, the climate in it is very diverse, so there are probably already regions where the weather allows you to plant the first vegetables on the site. These first vegetables include onions.

Virtually any seed need to be prepared before planting. As for onion stitch, it is also treated. You can do it different ways. We will specifically talk about the treatment of sevka with potassium permanganate.

This is perhaps the easiest and most affordable drug that probably even stands on your shelf, which you use to store various medical preparations.

We process onion sevka manganese. How to do it?

  In general, onion sevok can be planted not only in the spring, as many of us are accustomed to. They even plant him before winter. About the technology of such a sub-winter landing, you can read right here. But before the winter is still far away, now we still have spring, which means that we will plant onion sevok right now.

Although, I hope that by winter you will remember this article (a very courageous hope, I think!), And, perhaps, you will try to plant onion sevok also before winter.

Now we proceed directly to the technology of processing onion sev with potassium permanganate. Such processing helps to prevent the rapid formation of arrows, and to obtain fairly large bulbs. In this case, the bulbs do not touch, and soak them in potassium permanganate as is.

The solution you should be pink, and there the bulbs should lie down for 2 or 3 hours. But, if you decide to plant the onions, using this technology, then you do not need to take a feather from such bulbs.

We process onion sevok urea

  According to this technology, processing should be carried out if there is a desire to get more greens from onions. For this, it will be necessary to cut off the tops, and soak the onion in a weak urea solution without the tops.

They have to lie there all the same time, that is, 2 or 3 hours. A weak solution can be obtained if you drop the entire (incomplete) spoon of this preparation with five liters of water.

Some features of planting and growing onion seedlings

Usually, onion sets are planted quite shallowly. It is buried a little, and at the same time, the ¼-th part of the onion remains to stick out of the ground. With early planting, onion sevok need to be buried more strongly - a centimeter by 4-5. Next, wait for the appearance on the surface of the pen, and then dig out the onion, and rake off the soil from it. As a result, again, the ¼th part of the bulb should still stick out of the ground.

Much more often, the bulbs most quickly go to the arrowheads, and from large sevka. If you have small sevok, the formation of arrows can not wait, since such bulbs do not have a flower bud.

Also, a bow often gives arrows when it is stored correctly in the temperature interval between the 8th and 18th degrees. Or, if you have been exposed to frost.
